Survivable GMPLS networks with QoS guarantees

چکیده

A scheme is proposed to provide multiple QoS guarantees for survivable generalised multiprotocol label switching (GMPLS) networks. The shared risk link group (SRLG) information is considered to provide failure-independent protection. Based on the problem formulation, the service level agreement (SLA) parameters, such as the expected recovery failure probability, the expected recovery time and the expected signal loss are analysed to reveal the bound of the backup path length. Under the constraint of such a backup path length limit, a heuristic algorithm is further proposed for online path configuration. The simulation results demonstrate that the heuristic algorithm provides recovery quality guaranteed backup paths with high bandwidth multiplexing gain.

QoS-based Multiple Protection Schemes using the Multi-Granularity Optical Cross-Connect in Generalized MPLS Networks

Since the internet traffic will eventually be aggregated and carried over the core networks , it is imperative to address end-to-end QoS issues in optical GMPLS networks. With optical fiber bandwidth and node capacity increasing explosively, even a short network outrage lasting only a few seconds may cause several Gb of data to be lost if network equipment has interfaces at speed of 2.5Gbps or ...

Implementation of QoS Routing in Pre-configured GMPLS-based Optical Networks

This paper presents a review of QoS (Quality of Service) Routing algorithms and proposes the implementation of QoS Routing in pre-configured Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) based optical networks. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs better than previous ones in terms of connection establishment time whilst maintaining near-optimal blocking probability...

Towards self-adaptation in DiffServ-GMPLS network for video-conferencing services

The recently developed H.264 video standard achieves efficient encoding over a bandwidth ranging from a few kilobits per second to several megabits per second. Hence, transporting H.264 video is expected to be an important component of many networks multimedia services. However, due to lack of QoS support reaction networks, the basic GMPLS network management is not sufficient to deliver real-ti...
